“Practical Workshop & Roundtable” under Professional Services Advancement Support Scheme (“PASS”) has be held on 1 Aug. 2024 successfully, which is organized by Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, City University of Hong Kong, and collaborated by China Green Building (Hong Kong) Council and BEAM Society.

Opening Speech by the General Manager of the BEAM Society Limited

 

The conference attracted over 250 professionals and scholars who participated both online and offline, receiving widespread acclaim. The theme of the seminar was "Innovation and Application of Low-Carbon and Green Buildings in Hong Kong," aiming to explore the latest technologies and applications in low-carbon and green buildings, and to jointly promote the development and cooperation of green buildings.

Keynote Speeches by Invited Experts

 

The seminar schedule included a wealth of keynote speeches and expert discussion sessions. Keynote speakers included Prof. ZHAO Lihua from the School of Architecture at South China University of Technology; Mr. P C CHAN, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency; and Ms. Rosana WONG, Deputy Chair of Yau Lee Holdings Limited. The expert discussion session was chaired by Raymond Hu Professor of Architecture of Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering at City University of Hong Kong, Professor Emeritus of the School of Architecture at Chinese University of Hong Kong, and Chairman of the China Green Building (HK) Council, Prof. TSOU Jin Yeu. Panelists included Ir. PAN Shujie, Chief Operation Officer and Deputy General Manager of CR Construction Group Holdings Limited, Chairman of Sustainable Development Committee (SDC), Hong Kong Green Building Council; Sr. TSANG Ka Kau, Supervisor and Chairman of the School Management Committee of Pooi To Primary School in Hong Kong, and Managing Director of Thomas Tsang Surveyors Limited, and Mr. P C CHAN, Chief Executive Officer of the Hong Kong Quality Assurance Agency. They shared their experiences and insights on the application of green building technologies.

A green building visit activity was held at the International Commerce Centre

 

The seminar not only showcased the latest green building technologies and solutions but also provided a valuable platform for industry cooperation. Through exchanges and cooperation, participants unanimously agreed that the future development of green buildings is full of hope and looked forward to further promoting and applying green building technologies in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The successful holding of this event not only provided new ideas and directions for industry development but also made positive contributions to promoting the application and promotion of green buildings in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area. It also laid the foundation for future participation of Hong Kong professionals in the development and integration of the Greater Bay Area.
