China Green Building (Hong Kong) Council, abbreviated as CGBC (HK), which is the Hong Kong local branch of China Green Building Council. It was established on May 15, 2010 a learn society on building energy efficiency as well as to promote the development of Chinese green building sysytem.

The Chairman of the Coucil is Prof. TSOU Jin Yeu, City University of Hong Kong. The deputy directors include Prof. LEUNG Yee Tak, City University of Hong Kong, Prof. LAU Siu Yu, National University of Singapore, Mr. YANG Wei, Deputy General Manager of China Energy Conservation and  Environmental Protection (Hong Kong) Investment Co., Ltd. and Ms. WONG Wai Man, Executive Director of Yau Lee Holding Ltd.

Following the principles of CGBC, CGBC(HK) makes the effort to promote green building and low carbon eco-city development, as well as to build the platform for exchange of green building applications and best practice among the neigbourhood cities,to proactively adopt Chinese Green Building Label (GBL) system, to carry out green building related research utilizing the academic resources available in Hong Kong.

Since its inauguration, the Council has always been serving the building industry, proactively advising the local government and relevant building firms, and advancing, the development of green buildings in Hong Kong. In order to promote the growth of green building science and technology professionals, the popularization of green building knowledge and the talent development of green building technology in China, the Council aims at professional and technical training seminars, popular science activities and youth camps of national eco-city summer camps. Lectures cover green building evaluation standards, green building design concepts, policies and regulations.
