China Green Building (Hong Kong) Council, abbreviated as CGBC(HK). It was established on May 15, 2010, as a learning society on building energy efficiency as well as to promote the development of Chinese green building system. The Chairman of the Council is Prof. TSOU Jin Yeu, City University of Hong Kong. The deputy directors include Prof. LEUNG Yee Tak, City University of Hong Kong, Prof. LAU Siu Yu, The Hong Kong University, and Ms. WONG Wai Man, Deputy Director of Yau Lee Holding Ltd.

CGBC(HK) makes efforts to promote green building and low-carbon eco-city development, as well as to build the platform for the exchange of green building applications and best practices among the neighborhood cities, to proactively adopt the Chinese Green Building Label (GBL) system, to carry out green building related research utilizing the academic resources available in Hong Kong.

Since its inauguration, the Council has always been serving the building industry, proactively advising the local government and relevant building firms, and advancing, the development of green buildings in Hong Kong. In order to promote the growth of green building science and technology professionals, the popularization of green building knowledge and the talent development of green building technology in China, the Council aims at professional and technical training seminars, popular science activities and youth camps of national eco-city summer camps. Lectures cover green building evaluation standards, green building design concepts, policies, and regulations.
