Organized by China Green Building (Hong Kong) Council and Department of Architecture and Civil Engineering, City University of Hong Kong (CityU), the Asian Smart Cities Network and Digital Twin 2023: Hong Kong Future Urban Living symposium gathered world-leading experts from Hong Kong, the USA, Japan, and the UK to present keynote lectures and participate in round-table panel discussions centered on the latest developments and innovations in smart cities, digital twin, and the impact of these technologies on sustainable future living and net-zero transition, particularly for primate Asian cities. With a strong focus on Hong Kong, the topics presented and discussed had high relevance to the city’s Smart City Blueprint and impending mega-urban development projects.

The Discussion Panels

The symposium attracted more than 70 participants from different fields, including government, academia, industry, professionals, students, etc., and was very positively-received. Through the symposium, an international platform was built, allowing top researchers and professors from Georgia Institute of Technology, The University of Tokyo, Imperial College London, and CityU to conduct further knowledge exchange and collaboration exploration. The successful symposium also creates new connections and linkages to benefit Hong Kong’s development while marking a meaningful milestone in the CityU and Hong Kong academics.
